“Nothing is as painful as being stuck where you don’t belong.” - Mandy Hale
Isn’t that the truth? The feeling of being stuck in that space, that at times feels immovable and heavy, is not a fun place to be. Not to mention, super uncomfortable.
During my healing journey from my Lyme symptoms, I became better and better at recognizing when I was feeling “stuck” and this is also when my healing seemed to plateau.
All the fears, emotions and negative feelings would come rushing in during this period. It is my belief that this was letting me know that I still had some inner work to do. In other words, peeling back yet another layer.
Having tools in my self-healing tool box allows me to bounce back quickly. It also allows me to see and feel my inner light shine bright.
Here are some of the tools I personally use to lift me up when I am needing a little boost.
Tool #1: Meditation
My morning meditation (time varies) helps me get centered each day. It is a wonderful reminder to be grateful and helps me cultivate mindfulness which promotes healing. This time is very grounding for me.
Tool #2: Affirmations
Affirmations help me train my mind to think positively. Changing my mindset around my illness and my healing was a game changer for me. To mix it up a little, sometimes I even pull affirmation cards which serve as my daily message. As Dr. Bruce Lipton, PhD. says, “ our cells are affected by our thoughts”
Dr. Bruce Lipton talks about the biology of the body... “ The moment you change your perception, is the moment you rewrite the chemistry of your body. The cells in your body react to everything that your mind says. Negativity brings down your immune system.”
Tool #3: Move your body, get out in nature
Our bodies can hold negative energies. Getting outside, going for a walk, a run, a dip in the ocean, any exercise will help shed those negative vibes.
There was a time that it was very hard and painful for me to even walk. Just getting outside to take a few steps and sit and breathe in the fresh air...and absorb nature’s restoring energy was medicine for me.
Nature is a powerful healing force.
Tool #4: Essential Oils
I love my essential oils! These beauties helped me tremendously, both physically and emotionally. The power of scent can shift your mood in the matter of one little sniff.
I use them daily. Aromatically, topically and internally. Essential oils can lift your mood, increase your cognitive, psychological and physical wellbeing.
The use of these little treasures were such a big part of my healing process and made such an impact on me that I decided to start sharing them and teaching other about the power of essential oils.
These are just a few of the tools I have in my toolbox. It took me time to find what worked for me. These can be used in any situation where you are finding yourself stuck.
When you open your toolbox daily and pick out one thing to do to replenish your mind, body, and spirit, you strengthen your vitality and keep your light shining bright.
