If I am being honest, I have been putting this conversation off for some time now. Coming from where I stand at this moment, it just seems downright silly that I ever felt funny about speaking about the fact that in addition to my coaching business, I also have a doTERRA business. Again, to be totally honest, I believe it was mostly due to the stigma that can sometimes be attached to network marketing.
Well, I am ripping off the Band-Aid right now! I am not going to sit here and discuss what network marketing is and isn’t. I am going to share with you why I chose doTERRA for me, my family and as a business.
I feel even more compelled to write this now because last week was doTERRA’s convention. I, unfortunately, was not able to attend. I did, however, purchase an online ticket. After watching from my computer and hearing what my team members are sharing...I feel good, so friggin’ good that I have aligned myself with this company. I am so moved and inspired by what this company is doing. I am so proud to be a part of it. I will without a doubt be at the convention next year. I have already purchased my ticket!
Ok, so let’s get to it...
I have been using essential oils for many years for myself and my family. It wasn’t until I started my coaching biz that I felt compelled to start sharing with others. It is a nice compliment to the work I am doing. I see them as an additional tool that I can offer. I share them with whoever is interested in learning more.
I have aligned myself with doTERRA because it is a product I believe in because I use it every day and I would do so even if an opportunity wasn’t attached. I truly love these oils and products.
I want to first start with sharing a little bit on how they have helped me and my family.
They have helped boost and support our immune systems.
We have powerful healing tools right at our fingertips to help us through all kinds of moods, feelings, meltdowns, etc...It is amazing how quickly these oils can change things!
They are a huge aid in reducing my stress and anxiety levels. When I feel them on the rise, I love knowing that I can reach for these oils and get relief.
Sleep! There are two members of this family who struggle with sleep, these oils have helped tremendously!
There are a lot less visits to the doctor. Truly, almost none, with the exception of annual physicals.
They were a huge support to me both physically and emotionally during my healing from Lyme disease.
With that said, I am not of the mindset that EVERYTHING can be cured with an essential oil. I believe conventional medicine has its place. I believe there is a place for all of this - eastern, western, woo-woo medicine(or whatever you want to call it). We don’t need to choose, we can simply use them as tools for better health.
Now on to the company itself and why I chose doTERRA.
1. doTERRA gives back
Healing Hands is doTERRA’s non-profit. It is an organization that is funded by employees, members and the executives. It ultimately empowers impoverished communities with tools needed to become self-reliant. Healing Hands has raised several hundreds of thousands of dollars and has changed many lives in several countries. Wellness Advocates and Wholesale Customers have the option of donating to the Healing Hands foundation every time we order.
Last year in 2016, doTERRA Wellness Advocates and Wholesale Customers donated over $500K to Operation Underground Railroad, also known as OUR. This is a non-profit organization that paves the way for permanent eradication of child sex trafficking.
It doesn’t stop there. We are also supporting the victim’s aftercare. Some receive care through Days for Girls, another organization that doTERRA is partnered with. This organization is educating girls and women on women’s health and sustainable feminine hygiene.
doTERRA wanted to create a purity level that goes above and beyond. Their testing practices are very stringent. They created an internal standard called Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade(CPTG) that is verified by third party labs. Thorough stringent testing is done throughout the whole process (even down to the soil quality.) If an oil fails a test, specifically pesticides, there is no secondary process. Oils failing the test are rejected. These are aromatic extracts, nothing added, and nothing removed. They either meet the standard or they do not.
3. Co-Impact Sourcing
doTERRA is committed to Co-Impact Sourcing worldwide. This was really important to me. doTERRA carefully selects and sources their essential oils from where it grows at its prime. They team up with local farmers whose families have been growing and harvesting the plant for generations. They then take it one step further and form cooperatives, teaching farmers improved growing techniques, harvesting and distilling methods. I invite you to visit www.doterra.com to learn more about this.
The education and ongoing support are incredible. On the site, you will find hundreds of hours of free education, guidance, recipes and other support in terms of the safety of them, how to use, etc. Not to mention the ongoing support and education from my team’s resources, ranging from Facebook forums to weekly calls.
The people. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that in sharing these oils and deciding to do this as a business would fill me up so much. Whether it is those I am sharing the oils with or members of my team, connecting with them in person, via phone or Zoom is a bonus! I have made great friends and connected with long lost ones. I am educating and empowering women. Whether that be on how to incorporate them into their lives and or how to create and build their own oil biz, it is all a very rewarding experience to me.
A very unexpected gift.
So, that’s it my friends. That’s it, “that’s it in a nutty shell”, as my friend Amber likes to say. That’s why I chose doTERRA for me, my family and as my business.
